Salford

Salford The Lowry Centre

The city of Salford covers five districts of Salford, Eccles, Worsley, Irlam and Cadishead, and Swinton and Pendlebury. Some 220,000 people are proud to call Salford their home.

The Blackfriars, Broughton and Ordsall districts of central Salford are just one minute’s walk from the heart of Manchester’s shopping and central business districts, while MediaCityUK at Salford Quays is a globally important home for creative, digital and media industries. Over half the city is made up of green spaces and features forests, nature reserves, mosslands, parklands and the popular RHS Garden Bridgewater.

Salford is growing. Billions of pounds are being invested in creating new jobs and homes. Yet Salford Integrated Care Partnership is working to tackle notable inequalities that affect residents’ wellbeing. Ranked as one of the most deprived local authority areas in England, it has lower than average life expectancy.
