A thriving practice with 8600 patients, we are looking for a Salaried GP to join our well-established and supportive practice for 8 sessions per week, due to retirement. Purpose built surgery premises, located near town centre with good transport links, Stable partnership of 6 GP Partners, supported by Salaried GP, 3 x Practice Nurses, HCA, and an experienced and extremely supportive administration/reception team. Whole team take pride in delivering high quality, compassionate care. Established medical student practice working in partnership with Manchester University, currently with 2 x ST3 trainees. Active member of Walkden & Little Hulton PCN with excellent relations with other member practices. Access to MSK Practitioners, Pharmacists, Mental Health Practitioners and Paramedics. Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract and additional enhanced services where appropriate.
In accordance with the practice rota, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, on-call duties, telephone consultations and queries, home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, pathology results, referral letters and other correspondence in a timely manner.
The post-holder will work an on-call session alternate weeks and where necessary be flexible to cover sickness/holiday absence alongside the GP Partners.
Routine sessions will consist of 15 patients, to include telephone, video and face to face consultations.
The post-holder, during working hours will contribute to the Docman, prescription signing and queries, pathology results and home visits on a rota basis in conjunction with and as agreed with the GP Partners.
Record clear and contemporaneous computer-based consultation notes to agreed standards using EMIS Web.
Make professional decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred form other health care workers within the practice.
Assess the health care need of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, develop care plans for health.
Collect data for audit purposes.
Prescribe in accordance with the GMMG prescribing formulary, in conjunction with script switch, whenever this is clinically appropriate.
Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, following practice, local and national prescribing protocols/guidelines and deal with any queries accordingly.
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Carrying out work considered outside the NHS, such as medical examinations, certificates, and reports, letters etc. where the income is retained by the employer. All fees received by you, by virtue of your position in the practice, shall be paid to the Practice.
Ensuring full accreditation which will include full and unrestricted registration with the GMC, membership of an appropriate defence body and delivery of annual evidence for appraisal or accreditation purposes in keeping with National requirements at any time
Other responsibilities with the Practice:
Awareness of and compliance with all practice policies/guidelines, e.g., prescribing, safeguarding, confidentiality, GDPR, health and safety, QOF, Enhanced Services, Primary Care Standards and CQC Registration.
Attend training, Practice Meetings and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
Contribute to the development of computer-based patient records.
