We are looking for an enthusiastic GP to join our Practice Team. We are a forward thinking, friendly Practice with extremely good patient satisfaction levels. We are an organised and structured Practice, with a dedicated holistic approach to providing quality patient care.
We operate from a beautifully restored house in the suburbs of Bolton, within easy access of Manchester and the Lake District; there are excellent schools in the area.
We are offering a flexible (up to 6 sessions) salaried position. 6 weeks holiday & 1 week study leave. Great opportunity for mentorship and personal development.
We are a 5 Partner Practice, serving approximately 9,000 patients. We are a training practice currently supporting ST doctors. Our team includes 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 3 ANPs, a team of Pharmacists and a wonderful Administrative Team.

Main duties of the job
Surgeries at the Practice which will involve 12 patients per session and Home visits
Clinical examinations, diagnosis, monitoring and managing patient conditions
Administrative Practice work
Providing safe and effective care for patient
We are a close knit friendly Practice. We meet on a daily basis for a Clinicians meeting to discuss cases and changes in guidance. This is an opportunity to discuss complex patients and management strategies. We are offering a BMA contract.
We have a school holidays rota, this ensures a fair split of school holidays to allow everyone time to spend with their families.
The Practice hosts Pharmacist, MSK specialist, Health Improvement Practitioners and Mental Health Practitioners.
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
Providing counselling and health education
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting data for audit purposes
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
- A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003 Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983 Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training CCT) Currently on a PCT performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register DBS clearance
- Evidence of further postgraduate educational activities in relevant fields MRCGP DCH DRCOG RCGP Substance Misuse Certificate Level 1 or 2 F2 supervisor training/teaching diplo Desirable ma DFSRFH & Competence in Coil insertion Evidence of CPD activities.
