We are searching for an band top band 5 who wishes to develop or an established band 6 nurse to work within our team
You will be delivery respiratory services such as spirometry & Feno testing with complex disease management pathways.
By assessing, diagnosing and making recommendations for treatment/or prescribing effectively to improve patient outcomes.
Working in partnership with patients & key stakeholders to develop effective care plans following national guidance.
Working Monday to Friday from home and local medical centers as part of the specialist nursing team .
BOC provide services for the NHS, offering you CPD training, clinical supervision whilst supporting your continuous development.
Main duties of the job
Ideally you will have experience managing respiratory conditions – preferably with diagnosis, medication initiation and optimisation of therapies experience. As part of the specialist nursing team you will facilitate a nurse led clinic undertaking Feno, Spirometry both reversibility & post bronchodilator and medication self management.
The service is lead by a Respiratory Nurse Specialist and a respiratory consultant for more complex disease management decisions . You will have scope to work from home triaging patients though out the pathway and clincal locations across the Wigan borough.
Ideally you would have ;
COPD and Asthma diplomas – or a desire to work towards them
Experience in spirometry, additional support can be given regards interpretation if necessary.
ARTP qualification desirable or willingness to undertake this is essential
Clean UK driving license
Clinical knowledge of guidelines and evidence based practice
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Supporting the workforce is fit to practice by offering additional support to those in primary care if required and also student nurses, medical students and trainee physician associates.

What makes you great:
A degree/diploma in Adult Nursing. Registered Nurse on part 1 or 2 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register with current NMC registration
Ideally have a minimum of 3 years experience managing respiratory conditions – preferably with diagnosis, medication initiation and optimisation of therapies.
Hold both (or be working towards) COPD and Asthma diplomas or equivalent.
Experience in spirometry essential additional support can be given regards interpretation to the successful candidate if necessary.
ARTP qualification desirable or willingness to undertake this is essential.
Hold the ENB 998 teaching and assessing course or equivalent is desirable.
Hold a Full clean UK driving licence.
Clinical knowledge of guidelines and evidence based practice..
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A team player.
Independent Non-Medical Prescriber (V300) desirable or a willingness to undertake this is essential.
Evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development.
You will have a high level of personal integrity and that will help drive your decision making and the way you approach your role.
Highly motivated and capable of self-managing and working autonomously.
Desire to constantly improve self and the service.
Excellent IT and presentation skills including the use of clinical systems such as SystmOne and Emis although training can be given to successful candidate if necessary.
