Firsway Practice is looking to recruit a salaried GP to join our large practice in Trafford with around 15,400 patients.
We are a partnership of 6 with a further 7 Salaried GPs, a nursing team of 5, an experienced Medicines Management Team and a practice support team of patient co-ordinators, administrators and a strong management team.
We are research active and are also a training practice for undergraduate medical students, foundation year 2 doctors and GP registrars. In addition, we offer placements for other clinicians in training including student nurses and physician’s associates.
We have an active role in the Sale Central Primary Care Network and provide 7-day access appointments on behalf of the network. We offer additional services to our patients including a coil and implants service as well as minor surgery. We operate workflow optimisation techniques to carefully manage the workload of our GPs.
We are a friendly, cohesive team who work well together. We support our staff with clinical meetings and clinical debriefs each morning; all held virtually at the moment.
The post holder will be responsible for up to 8 sessions per week. We are currently operating contact with patients digitally via an online system called AskmyGP. Your session will consist of patient contacts, administration/referrals and any home visits as well as the processing of test results, patient letters and prescription requests.
All GPs undertake extended hours provision on a pro rata, rota basis as well as a share of the duty GP role each day which involves an admin session in the morning and then on on-call session in the afternoon.
You may be invited to supervise ST1/2/3 and Foundation Year 2 doctors and medical students in the absence of the allocated trainers. Time is allocated for this work within each clinical session.
