Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists

The Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists (AMSPAR) is a professional membership organisation which recognises both formal qualifications and length of service in a healthcare environment. AMSPAR members receive special privileges and services including access to a free legal helpline, a number of newsletters and access to events in addition to valuable work and non-work related discounts.

AMSPAR works with City & Guilds to provide a range of nationally recognised qualifications suitable for delivery as either full or part time study programmes. These range from Level 2 through to Level 5 and are available in a range of funded packages. AMSPAR also offer a number of non-framework courses.

The IHM supports managers by helping them to meet the challenges of working in the health and social care sector and understand, develop, share and celebrate good practice.

The Practice Managers Association (PMA) are providers of training, education and other support services for non-clinical workers in the primary care sector.

The Time for Care programme is at the heart of the General Practice Forward View’s support for practices to redesign their care and manage demand more sustainably.
