GM Primary Care Nursing Awards 2022

GPN innovator of the year

This award recognises and rewards the vital contribution the Practice Nurse innovator provides in primary care. The judges are seeking nominations for Practice Nurses who consistently deliver confident contemporary care and who consistently perform above what is considered as the ‘norm’ for their peer group.

Inspirational leader

This award is for Nurses/Nurse Associates/Healthcare assistants in general practice who have developed initiatives to ensure their practice/practice team or celebrate and raise the profile of primary care nursing.

Rising Stars

This award is open to a member of nursing practice team with less than 2 years’ experience that provides care as part of a general practice setting. Entries are welcomed from the entire primary care nursing workforce of Greater Manchester. Members of the nursing practice team can either nominate themselves, or be nominated by a care professional, patient or carer. This award recognises and rewards the contribution from those who are relatively new to primary care. The judges are seeking nominations for those with less than 2 years’ experience in primary care who are developing their delivery of confident contemporary primary care and who are consistently performing above what is considered as the ‘norm’ for their peer group.

GP Nurse of the Year

This award recognises any registered Nurse who has made a significant contribution to the care and treatment of the practice population. Supporting improved patient outcomes and experience.

Innovative Nursing team

This award recognises and rewards the vital contribution the practice nursing team provides in primary care. The judges are seeking nominations for practice nurses who consistently deliver confident contemporary care and who consistently perform above what is considered as the ‘norm’ for their peer group.

Outstanding Student Nurse

This award recognises a student in pre-registration or post-registration education who has inspired peers either on a placement or at their higher education institution. Entrants could have overcome significant obstacles in their personal lives or circumstances to succeed as student nurses. NB this will be a student nurse in general practice

Health Care Support Worker of the year

The Health Care Support Worker Award is open to all Nursing Assistants and Health Care Assistants who work as part of the nursing team. Health Care Support Workers are extremely valuable members of the nursing team. They work within the primary care setting which could include general practice across a primary care network, extended access and a federation, this list is not exhaustive.

Improving population health

This award recognises Nurses/nursing teams who have used a quality improvement approach to improve outcomes for a group of patients, reduced inequalities in outcomes, improved patient safety, used health outcome data to demonstrate improvements, involved the whole Practice team to support QI

Life time achievement

This award is for a registered nurse in primary care.

Wellbeing champion

This is an invidual team member of the practice who has gone above and beyond to make a difference for colleagues and the practice during the last 2 years.
